Deep Gratitude | Help Us Finish 2014 Strong

We want to extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation to all of you who attended IMAN’s Annual Fundraising Dinner last weekend. It was a powerful evening, marked by inspirational speeches by Dr. Ingrid Mattson, Commissioner Jesus Garcia, and Malika Bilal, heartfelt appeals, delicious food, and a riveting performance by Amir Sulaiman. Thanks to the Most High, and to all of IMAN’s supporters across Chicagoland and across the globe, we were able to raise 2/3 of our Year-End Goal that night. Please allow us to end 2014 strong by helping us raise the last $98,500 with a zakat-eligible, tax-deductible donation today.

Re: The CBS Report and Our Dinner

I wanted to make sure you had a chance to hear the piece that Chicago Public Radio ran this week on IMAN’s Green ReEntry and that you are aware of the important national story that CBS aired last month. Both pieces highlight the work made possible by your continued support: You help us creatively tackle the debilitating challenges confronting too many of our inner-city communities. I know you understand how important it is for us to see stories of Muslims reflecting the spirit of hope and transformation at the core of our tradition at a time when we are bombarded by oft-reported, grizzly images associated with Islam and Muslims across the world. But again, this is not possible without your ongoing prayers and support. “Crime, Punishment & Redemption” on CBS

On Sunday, October 5th, IMAN and our Green ReEntry Program was featured on a CBS Religion & Culture interfaith special! “This program looks at how faith communities helps returning citizens and their families put their lives back together after incarceration. Crime, Punishment & Redemption takes you to the South Side of Chicago, where the Inner-City Muslim Action Network’s Green Reentry program turns foreclosed property into a new start for the formerly incarcerated[.] Not to be missed!” This special highlights the work made possible by our supporters: You help us creatively tackle the debilitating challenges confronting too many of our inner-city communities.
