I am extremely excited about this initiative. I agree with Kelly, I would very much like to be invited this coming year. Being a 13 year convert with an education in Theatre and Choreograhy, I have been working to bring the arts to the Chicagoland Muslim community. I will keep looking for updated information. In the spirit of health and wellness – has any one thought of putting on a Muslim Run Run? A 5 mile run/walk event? That was the first thing that came to my mind when I first saw the term – Muslim Run. It could be a great way to showcase Muslim businesses as sponsers.

Hey, this sounds like it was an incredible event. I’m studying immigration law and have experience as both a Spanish and Arabic translator. Any volunteer opportunities connected to these kind of cross-over events between Spanish speaking and Arabic speaking immigrants?

This is definitely a date that all Muslims in Chicago should keep. Kenny Gamble is our living legend in the music world and the only Muslim in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He deserves all of our support. Kudos IMAN for giving Kenny his flowers while he can still smell them.

Very nice article. Al hamdulillah. Having lived in Detroit and the midwest, I can relate to all that you have said. Muslim American civic mindness and commitment to Islamic principles in Detroit is still alive although the physical structures of the city is dying.
