Deputy Director
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Deputy Director will have the following responsibilities:
Program Development and Management/Strategic Oversight:
• Management and operations of IMAN’S social services, outreach, and networking/organizing activities
• Design, implementation, and evaluation of all programmatic activities
• Management of program/administrative staff to ensure seamless implementation of goals and objectives
• Coordination between IMAN’s social service, art and organizing programs
• Policy analysis of issues (e.g., criminal justice and food justice) as they affect IMAN’s organizing goals
• Oversight of IMAN Strategic Planning & commitment to implementation of plan
• Monitoring relevant legislation and policy trends for IMAN
• Review organizational finances regularly through budgeting and check-in process with Finance Director and Executive Director
Resource Development & Special Events:
• Supporting the Executive Director with cultivation and solicitation of new donors
• Work with Development Director, consultants and staff on planning and implementation of funding strategies and special fundraising & donor cultivation events
Human Resources
• Management, supervision and performance reviews of IMAN staff
• Identification and oversight of professional development and training programs
• Oversight and management of payroll, benefits, insurance, and compliance activities
Qualifications
• 5-7 years of experience in non-profit management and/or consultancy especially as it relates to management, strategic planning, coalition building, fundraising, and organizational development
• Demonstrated leadership skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong administrative/record-keeping abilities and attention to detail
• Experience working with diverse ethnic, religious, and racial communities
• Commitment to the work and vision of IMAN
