Health & Wellness
Since 2018, IMAN Atlanta has partnered with Mental Health America of Georgia to certify 49 community members (including most of our staff) in mental health first aid. Our community members have become mental health champions addressing access and stigma by being equipped with the skills and knowledge of how to respond to an individual experiencing distress with care and compassion until further support is provided.
Our work to increase health and wellness in our communities intersects with our work in food ecosy and Green Reentry. We understand how the food we eat and have access to influences our mental well-being in addition to our physical health. And for our Green ReEntry program participants, being able to process and talk about their traumas and develop healthy coping strategies to elevate their journeys in reconnecting with self and community.
