Weekend Warriors

Weekend Warriors is a holistic, intensive, year round weekend program that aims to positively and vigorously engage strategically selected individuals during Chicago’s volatile weekends.

Designed around IMAN’s integrated, Weekend Warriors is conducted in partnership with City Colleges’ Richard J. Daley College. Program participants are enrolled as full-time students and offered behavioral health therapy, individual case management, artistic programming, select weekend excursions, transportation support, meals, and weekly stipends.

Graduating students receive an Advanced Certification in Industrial Welding, college credits with the option of continuing a trajectory in college, career support by Daley Colleges’ Career Services department, and job placement assistance.

Additionally, participants have access to all the support programs and services offered at IMAN (health center, community events, ceramic studio classes, etc) as well as those extended to registered students by Daley College.

This includes student life and wellness resources and access to advisors.

How long is Weekend Warriors? Weekend Warriors runs in conjunction with Daley College. Semesters range from 14-17 weeks. Participant Leaders can enroll for 1, 2, or all 3 semesters.

What are the program hours? Weekends are 30 hours; Fri 3p-9:15p, Sat 8a-9p, Sun 8a-7p

Do I need a HS Diploma or equivalent? Yes. Participant Leaders are enrolled in college and need a diploma or HS equivalent.

What classes are offered in WW? Weekend Warriors provides access to classes in Industrial Manufacturing with a concentration in Industrial Welding.
