IMAN’s Beloved Community Ceramics Studio | Planters, Farmers, and Food Justice

This ceramic course focuses on hand building. Our course objective is to facilitate an understanding of food access issues and discuss food sovereignty solutions such as the strong example of the Pembroke, IL Black Farmers Association. IMAN embraces holistic health through creative expression, to promote wellness and healing. During this course, both functional and sculptural ceramic traditions will be explored. We will discuss the history of ceramics, and the nature and origin of clay. This course is intended for those interested in creating planters from start to finish.
