Youth Coordinator

Summary:

IMAN is seeking a highly motivated, full-time youth coordinator to oversee its Youth Council, youth-led campaigns, and after-school programs. S/he will report directly to Director of Youth and Organizing. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, flexible, and able to multi-task under minimal supervision.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Develop an intensive curriculum for IMAN’s main after-school programs
Develop effective outreach strategies to attract youth to programming
Build and sustain relationships with school personnel, youth, and parents
Train, schedule, and supervise volunteers and mentors who will support academic and skills development programs
Guide and implement youth-led social justice campaigns
Promote youth and parent engagement through community events such as Fresh Expressions and Drumming For Peace
Monitor the gathering and analysis of program data and information
Work with the Director of Youth and Organizing to ensure program effectiveness
Other tasks and duties reasonably related to the job responsibilities

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in related field and 2-3 years of youth development experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Prior community outreach experience
Ability to work with diverse groups of youth and adults
Sensitivity and commitment to addressing issues of diversity and inclusion.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Prior organizing experience preferred
