Community Health and Wellness

Don’t miss IMAN’s final Community Forum of 2010, held November 10, was an active planning session for Muslim Run: A Campaign for Health, Wellness and Healing. We:

  • Reviewed the status report of the Muslim Run: Health Wellness and Healing Campaign
  • Mapped out potential committees and roles
  • Met other local residents and activists committed to this issue

Local hip hop artist D-Nick the Microphone Misfit opened the program with an acappella version of his song “Abnormality.”

Shamar Hemphill, Community Organizer, recapped some activities related to Muslim Run from the past six months.

The forum was also supported by local hip hop artist Mikkey Halsted, whose song “Liquor Store” has provided a soundtrack to the campaign for more than a year.
