Sara Hamdan was raised in the Chicagoland area and has roots in Palestine. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago with a BA in Anthropology, and is currently pursing an MA at the University of Chicago’s School of Social Service Administration. Sara was previously at the Illinois
Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights where she worked with community-based organizations across the state and administered programs to increase immigrant and refugee access to social services. Since 2014, Sara has been with the Inner-City Muslim Action Network (IMAN), managing the Corner Store Campaign, which focuses on racial justice and equity through the lens of food.
