Welcome to Ramadan!
Assalamu Alaikum: We are turning to generous supporters to help us reach this year’s Ramadan fundraising commitment early so we can devote our staff’s time during these critical summer months more exclusively to implementing critical programming and less on fundraising efforts.
As you may know, this year’s IMAN staff and extraordinary leaders have made great strides in many areas of our work. These accomplishments include:
- Opening a 17,000 square foot partially rehabilitated Youth and Arts Wellness Center with programming and leadership development services for young teens.
- Tripling our medical services to the underinsured and uninsured in the community and adding behavioral health and family counseling to the set of services we offer.
- Planning and putting on our 15th Anniversary Takin’ It to the Streets Urban International Festival, bringing 10,000 people together, and providing a platform for activists from across the city and county to unite around key policy issues affecting low income communities.
In addition to these important programmatic milestones, IMAN made some very important hires this last year that include an eminently qualified Deputy Director, developed a new strategic plan, and generated some very positive (and unsolicited) national media attention that included two prominent stories on NPR that reached over 12 million households and an article that recirculated in syndicated columns across the country.
